Q: Why do I have to pay a HazMat fee to get my smoke grenades?

A: Smoke products that have "pull ring" style igniters are classified as a HazMat shipment by DOT, so carriers impose this fee.  Products with standard fuses do NOT require this addtional fee. The fee is per box.

Q: Can smoke grenades start fires?

A: Our smoke grenades are unique in that they use non pyrotechnic, cool burning technology. However, there is a risk of fire when used in dry field conditions. Do not use smoke bombs in close proximity to flammable materials such as dry grass or dry leaves.

Q: How do I store my smoke grenades?

A: Keep your smoke grenades cool and dry.  Moisture, humidity, and heat will reduce the shelf life of your smoke. Read warranty / storage info.

Q: What do we mean by "cool burning?"

A: We use the term “cool burning” to clarify that Sport Smoke products do not have an external flame, and compared to “military” type smokes and most colored smokes our products create much less heat, and have a lower risk of causing fire or injury.  Sport Smoke products do generate heat – the smoke is hot as it exits the tube, and the tube body gets hot to the touch.  Our Smoke quickly cools to ambient temperature – several inches from the tube it is no longer hot at all, and the smoke cloud will be the same temperature as the surrounding air.  Sport Smoke does not stain, and will not leave any residue when used as directed.
